Just another guitar? Definitely not! Something totally different. Good quality guitars but with a different look. Where do we go? What do we do? Paul du Plessis, the founder of Africoustic Guitars, answered this question when he introduced the African theme guitar to his partner to be, Jan Nortje.

He showed an Africoustic guitar to Jan and from thereon it was just going forward and fine tuning the African look of their guitars. A closed corporation was formed and off they went. A humble but forceful start, because they both believed in the basic idea of an African guitar and soon the orders came in. The people wanted it. Shows and exhibitions followed and the company grew steadily. The company started off in 2005 and is going from strength to strength. Early days but unique in many ways. Promote Africa through a musical instrument. Promote the wildlife of South Africa. The out of Africa and proudly South Africa definition was built into guitars and be it as it may, a guitar with a unique look. Africa and acoustic combined gives - Africoustic!
